Police suspect illegal drugs were involved when dealing with a man found asleep while parked in the middle of a Dunedin street early today.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said officers were patrolling when they came across a car parked in the middle of Arthur St about 1.45am.
Officers found a 37-year-old man in the driver's seat with his door wide open, Snr Sgt Bond said.
The man was brought back to the station and processed for a drug impairment test, which he failed.
A blood sample was taken and police were waiting for the results, likely to be available next week, Snr Sgt Bond said.
