Threat after theft in Leith St break-in: police

A man allegedly broke into a student flat in Leith St in North Dunedin overnight and threatened one of the occupants. 

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said five males, believed to be Polynesian or Maori, were seen walking down the driveway of the flat about 3am.

"One male entered a broken window and stole a vape device, and threatened the owner who saw him doing it.

"They then took off on foot, south down Leith St.

"Enquiries are continuing.''
