A verbal dispute spilled over into violence in the Dunedin suburb of Concord this morning.

A police spokeswoman said police were called to Mulford Street, in Concord, at 9.45am to a report of disorder.

A group of people entered a house on the street and a verbal dispute ensued.

The verbal dispute turned violent and one person was assaulted.

They were taken to hospital by St John ambulance with minor injuries.
