Dunedin City Council contractors are conducting routine maintenance of a stormwater outlet at the Andersons Bay Inlet this week.

The outlet services the Musselburgh, Andersons Bay and part of the Tainui suburbs.

Dunedin City Council Three Waters network operations manager Neva Vaitupu said the work involved removing rocks, tree roots and other debris in order to make sure the outlet was fully clear.

Reinstating the outlet channel was expected to cost less than $5000, he said.

"The work needs to be carried out during favourable low tides, so our contractors will be back on site later this week to complete the job," Mr Vaitupu said.
