The Mosgiel and district Lions Club has applied to the Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board's discretionary fund for $3000 to upgrade the Pearl of the Plain sign.
Applications for the fund closed last week. The board will make decisions on funding applications, at its next meeting, on August 19.
