Driver flees scene after crash in St Kilda

A motorist involved in a two-vehicle crash in Dunedin this morning will face court after leaving the scene and failing to stop for police.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said they received a call about 9:30am for a crash at the intersection of Prince Albert Rd and Douglas St.

Crews from St Kilda and Lookout Point attended and on arrival found one of two cars had hit a power pole and one of the cars had left the scene.

A police spokeswoman said they located the second car about 10:35am, but the driver did not pull over when signalled to do so.

She was followed by police at low speed before eventually being pulled over in Isadore Rd in St Clair.

A 32-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in Dunedin District Court on October 5.

A St John spokesman said one patient was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
