A daytime rave at Errick’s venue in Dunedin on Saturday has been deemed a success with about 50 people taking part.
Fresh Light Frequencies organiser Rosie Hill said the rave had gone down well and everyone who turned up seemed to enjoy it.
The rave, where there was no alcohol, took place from 7am to 9am on Saturday.
The idea came from a few rave fans who were getting older, had children and could not stay out all hours.
Vanessa Cook, who is a young mother, and could no longer go to raves which went into the small hours, was one of the DJs for the event.
She wanted to still experience a rave, but at a sensible hour.

The event was alcohol-free and open to all ages, Ms Hill said.
She said about 50 people turned up to the Errick’s event.
The venue had been blacked out so it was dark and quite a few people brought along their children.
There was a very nice atmosphere at the event and everyone was up dancing, she said.
It was predominantly a female affair but there was still males and a lot of fun times.
The event was partly funded by the creative communities scheme, run by Creative NZ.
The dancing was torrid at times but most people managed to last the two hours. The oldest dancer was probably in their mid- to late-50s.
Ms Hill said yesterday said she hoped another similar event could be held.
