Fans are already taking it easy ahead of the Eagles in Dunedin tonight.

Crowds of concert-goers, cruise ship passengers and locals are mingling in the Octagon and centre city ahead of the concert tonight.

Dunedin rock-band Bullet Proof Convertible is entertaining the 400 or so people already gathered in the Octagon, with a lunch time concert.

Parts of the Octagon and lower Stuart St are closed to vehicles and street furniture is out for people to enjoy.

Entertainment and food trucks are adding some vibrancy to the already sublime day.

Thousands of fans of the American rock band are expected to flock to the city for the concert which opens at 4pm.

Last-minute addition Marlon Williams will kick things off at 6.30pm.
