Firefighters from four Dunedin stations attended a "quite large fire" in Caversham last night.
Lookout Pt and St Kilda stations initially responded to the call out at a single-story dwelling on Thorn St just before 10pm, fire service shift manager Andrew Norris said.
"There was fire throughout most of the house. They requested a second alarm, so another two fire engines were sent from Dunedin and Roslyn."
Mr Norris said the fire was extinguished "with no major hassles" and no one was injured.
A scene guard spent the night guarding the property, "just in case [the fire] might be suspicious".
Police and a fire investigator were now on site investigating the cause of the flames, he said.
