Dunedin police are investigating the theft of an "expensive" carbon kevlar kayak, taken from the roof rack of a car parked outside Otago Girls' High School on Friday night.
The theft of the black-and-white Vampire kayak was reported on Tuesday, Sergeant Matt Scoles said yesterday.
• An 18-year-old man who chose the wrong place to pick a fight was arrested at 11am on Tuesday outside the Dunedin Central Police Station.
Sgt Scoles said the man jumped out of his car and allegedly punched another man five or six times, in front of an off-duty officer.
No complaint was laid.
The man was charged with fighting in a public place and bailed until later this week.
