Police are disappointed by behaviour at a street party in Dunedin’s student quarter, where a person was assaulted and property damaged.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said officers were first called to Dundas St at midday yesterday after reports an 18-year-old had been assaulted.
Investigations were ongoing but no arrests had been made yet.
The event was understood to be a ‘‘High School Reunion Day’’ - police had not been aware of the event and it was not an annual party, Snr Sgt Bond said.
‘‘[We’re] disappointed that an assault has taken place and someone’s been injured. We’ll be investigating it to hold those responsible to account.’’

‘‘When that male walked away, he damaged four wing mirrors on vehicles parked on the road on Dundas Street,’’ Snr Sgt Bond said.
While officers were at that incident, a vehicle was seen skidding about 20-30 metres up the street.
A 19-year-old man was charged with sustained loss of traction and driving while disqualified. He was due to appear in court.
Police also were called to a Castle St block party yesterday after reports of a fight breaking out.
A spokeswoman said they were notified of a person being injured about 12.25pm.
A local officer said the injuries did not appear serious.
