Question over motive in burglary of firearms

Senior Sergeant Brian Benn said police were investigating the burglary of the Mornington property, and were yet to determine if the theft was premeditated or opportunistic.

"It is always a concern when firearms fall into the wrong hands."

The firearms taken were a 12-gauge Damascus side-by-side shotgun, a World War 2 lever-action .303 SMLE rifle, a .22 Browning rifle, a .22 semiautomatic Gevarm rifle and an over and under Miroku shotgun.
