Auckland musician Anthonie Tonnon (foreground) brushes aside the rain as he is greeted in Waitati by residents, including Mandy Mayhem and the Waitati Militia, as he passes through ‘‘Customs’’ after arriving from Dunedin by rail to perform his Rail Land show to a packed Waitati Hall.

Before the performance, Tonnon said he had enjoyed a great rail trip with other concert-goers.

Touring nationally, Rail Land celebrates passenger rail in Aotearoa. For each show, performer and audience travel together by train, ‘‘reaching some of our most extraordinary community venues’’, Tonnon said. Dunedin attendees would again ‘‘travel on the spectacular line to reach the Waitati Hall’’, with the help of sponsor Dunedin Railways, he said.
