About 50 worshippers participated in a Good Friday procession carrying a cross from Northeast Valley Baptist Church in North Rd to the Dunedin Botanic Garden yesterday, where an Easter service was held.
Carrying the cross were Johann Bayne, sons Stefan (4) and Enoch Bayne (7), of Dunedin, and Telii Tekie (21), of Milton.
The Caversham Combined Churches walk of the cross from the St Clair Esplanade to the Caversham Baptist Church attracted about 100 people yesterday.
The procession was followed by a 40-minute Easter service and hot cross buns.
Meanwhile, The Taieri Christian Ministry Association organised its annual walk of the cross, where about 60 people took part in carrying a large wooden cross from Holy Cross Seminary to St Luke's Anglican Church, where a Good Friday service was held.
