The 28-year-old woman accused of two armed raids of St Kilda businesses has been released from custody.

The plant worker, whose name remains suppressed, was remanded on bail when she appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday.

The woman stood silently in the dock as Judge John Macdonald detailed her extensive bail conditions.

Judge Macdonald imposed a daily curfew of 6pm-7am, a prohibition order on alcohol and drugs and ordered her to surrender her passport if she had one.

The woman spent the weekend and Monday in custody, away from her child, after her arrest on Friday night.

No details of what led to her offending were revealed in court yesterday, but prosecutor Senior Sergeant Malcolm Greig said during the woman's court appearance on Saturday that ``something's going on'' as she had never appeared before the court previously.

She faces charges of aggravated robbery and assault with intent to rob.

The first charge relates to the robbery of takeaway restaurant Tandooree Garden, in Prince Albert Rd, where $20 was taken at knife-point on Wednesday.

The second count relates to the attempted robbery of the Sai Food Market on Thursday, when the dairy's owner fled the shop after a knife was presented at her. Nothing was taken.

The woman will next appear in court on September 13.
