Senior Sergeant Damion Rangitutia said officers were called after a man entered the gas shop, on the corner of Hillside Rd and Braemar St, and stole money from a cash register and "fled the scene'' at 12.50pm.
"Police have been at the shop conducting a scene examination and working with the victim, who was uninjured but understandably shaken by the incident,'' Sgt Rangitutia said.
