Seeing red

The sun rises over the Burkes section of Te Aka Otākou (The Otago Vine) cycleway. The continuous 30km walking and cycling route from Port Chalmers to Portobello, on the opposite side of Otago Harbour, was officially opened by then transport minister David Parker on August 26 last year.
