Suspicious fires lit in Woodhaugh Gardens

Police are investigating after a series of small suspicious fires were lit in Woodhaugh Gardens this afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said no-one had been caught in relation to the fires, but police were doing areas following their ignition about 12.15pm today.

A Fire Service spokesman said the small vegetation fires posed no issues for Dunedin Central firefighters, who doused the fires and referred the matter to police.

Anyone who was information about the fires or witnessed any suspicious activity in the gardens about noon, should contact Dunedin police.
