A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with arson in relation to a fire at Otago Boys’ High School last week.
Crews called to a fire in the grandstand at the school about 9.30pm on Tuesday, after members of the public raised the alarm.
While the damage to the stand was minor, it could have been worse if the fire service had not been alerted quickly, police said tonight.
The boy, who is not a pupil at the school, has been bailed to appear in the Dunedin Youth Court on August 16.
