TIA national plan update

An update by the Tourism Industry Association on its national plan is being detailed at events in Dunedin and Queenstown next week.

The association's 2013 regional roadshow provided a chance for members and others in the tourism industry to get the latest information about national initiatives and how they affected communities.

An overview of the association's major strategic initiatives will be presented in Dunedin at the Scenic Hotel on Wednesday and in Queenstown at the Crowne Plaza on Thursday.

The association will highlight what it hopes to achieve in the next two years, as well as results from its annual survey on hotel operations.

In addition, staff from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment will explain the latest regional tourism indicators, which show where visitor money within communities is being spent and who is benefiting.

Members are encouraged to register for the events through the association's website.
