Two people have been taken to Dunedin Hospital after a car crashed off State Highway One near Waitati.
Two people were extracted from the vehicle and drivers should expect delays, he said.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports of a car going off SH1 and hitting a tree between Waitati and Evansdale about 12.30pm today.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said two people were taken by ambulance to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries.
