A 28-year-old woman was taken to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries after her car rolled on the Southern Motorway, between Fairfield and Green Island yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the scene, just south of Saddle Hill Rd, about 9.30am.

It was believed the car hit the median barrier before landing on its roof in the northbound lane, the spokeswoman said.

A St John spokesman said two ambulances attended the accident.

The lane was blocked for about an hour.
