Armed police took a man into police custody in Tauranga last night after they were called about a domestic incident.
Members of the Tauranga armed offenders squad attended at about 10pm after police were made aware that there were firearms at the Oropi address
The firearms were secured without incident and a 41-year-old Tauranga man was taken into custody, a police statement said.
No charges had been laid and the man was issued with a police safety order.
