Three people were injured and powerlines were brought down when a bus crashed into a building in the Auckland suburb of Devonport this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Vauxhall Rd at 9.38am.

A police spokeswoman said the driver and four passengers were being assessed by paramedics.

One person was in a serious condition, another moderately hurt and a third had minor injuries, a St John ambulance said.

Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman Megan Ruru said the crash had brought down powerlines and a structural from engineer had been requested from the council.
