A "Death by Chicken" burger and Chicken Katsu Garden Salad sold by Pak 'N Save Rangiora in Canterbury have been recalled due to safety concerns.

The Ministry for Primary Industries said it was concerned about the possibility of the chicken being undercooked.

The recall affects products with a best-before date of June 11.

The products were sold from Rangiora Pak 'N Save and they should not be eaten, MPI said.

They could be returned for a refund or thrown away.

"There have been no reports of associated illness, however if you have consumed any this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice."

Foodstuffs has been approached for comment.
