Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at an address in Morven, in South Canterbury.
The incident, which occurred yesterday, was reported to police this morning.
A man had returned home and disturbed a female intruder, who pointed a gun at him before leaving the house.
A police spokeswoman said she was not aware of any statement the woman made towards the man nor what items she left his address with.
Timaru CIB were at the scene today carrying out an examination and working with the victim.
Police inquiries are ongoing.
