Fire has gutted a house on Banks Peninsula near Christchurch.
Two appliances and two tankers attended the fire in Little Akaloa, 25km north of Akaroa, which began at 11.30am.
A southern fire communications spokesman said firefighters were still searching the property.
He would not confirm if anyone had been injured.
