A two-year-old girl has been taken to Starship Hospital in Auckland with serious injuries after an incident last night.
The girl was admitted about 8.20pm last night and has had surgery, Waitemata police spokesman Kevin Loughlin said.
Police have cordoned off an address in Ranch Avenue in the North Shore suburb of Beach Haven and a scene examination is in progress.
