A jury in Palmerston North's High Court declared a hung verdict on Friday night in the case of a man facing sex charges against two 16-year-old boys.
The man, who is protected by suppression of his identity and evidence heard, will now face a retrial on sexual violation and indecent assault charges, the Manawatu Standard reported.
Three charges were discharged by the judge during the trial, but four remain.
The jury returned its hung verdict at 9.15pm after nine hours' deliberation.
