Police investigating a van crash that killed two young people in Kumeu have charged the driver of the vehicle.
Twenty-year old Ashley Walsh and 19-year-old Tye Gibbs died after the van they were travelling in crashed on Old North Rd last August.
The Waitemata Serious Crash Unit has completed its investigation and a 22-year-old man has been charged with two counts of driving with excess blood alcohol causing death.
He will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Tuesday, February 25.
