Two men have been charged after a truck window was shot out on a motorway north of Wellington yesterday.
A Wellington Central Police spokesman said one of the men had been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of an air gun and endangering transport.
He was due to appear at Wellington District Court on Monday.
The other man had been charged with being an accessory after the fact and disposing of evidence. He was due to appear at Wellington District Court on Friday.
The incident happened near Horokiwi, 4km from Petone about 3pm yesterday.
Police said the truck was travelling along the motorway and was overtaken on the left lane by a white stationwagon with two occupants.
One of the men then fired on the truck with an airgun blowing out a side window but the driver escaped unhurt.
Police later found the vehicle and one of the men in the Horokiwi area. The second man handed himself in to Porirua police.
