The 45-year-old, from Bull Creek, was found by a search team walking out of the bush at 11.05am today.
She was just 300m away from where her car had been located on Monday afternoon.
That area had been extensively searched over the previous three days.
Mrs Lane-Wright, who is bipolar, had been missing since Monday afternoon after her vehicle was found down a 40 metre bank in Bull Creek, 60km southwest of Dunedin.
She was now back home being supported by friends and family, police said.
No other details were available but police would be talking to her this afternoon, Sergeant Martin Bull, of Balclutha, said.
Thirty search and rescue volunteers scoured dense bush and steep gullies in the Bull Creek area yesterday, but had failed to locate any sign her.
The search had been expanded this morning to cover a larger slice of coastline as well as moving more inland.
