A 38-year-old male motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a car in the Waitomo district.
He was travelling on Kopaki Road, about 2km west of the Kopaki junction, with his wife, 36, riding pillion yesterday afternoon.
She suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Waikato Hospital by the Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter.
The occupants of the car were unhurt. Police said the crash was still being investigated but speed and alcohol were not factors.
Earlier today a 30-year-old male motorcyclist died following a collision with a car on a one-way bridge in the Coromandel.
The accident happened on State Highway 25, about 3km south of Tairua, about 11.30am.
