The 54-year-old man charged with the murder of Christchurch woman Bronwyn Mary Sadler, 47, continues to be assessed at a psychiatric hospital.
The man, who has name suppression, was due in court this morning for a discussion about whether his identity should continue to be protected.
However, he did not appear when his case called at a Christchurch District Court session at Nga Hau e Wha marae.
The unemployed man continues to be remanded in custody without plea at Hillmorton psychiatric hospital in Christchurch.
The case will next be heard on March 2.
Sadler, of Christchurch, was found dead at an address in Cobham St, Spreydon, on Tuesday, September 27.
