Emergency services are rushing to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in the King Country, believed to have left one person dead.
The Fire Service was called to the crash on State Highway 30 near Kopaki, 20km southeast of Te Kuiti, at 1.49pm, a northern fire communications spokesman said.
One of the cars caught fire, although the fire was now believed to be out, with fire appliances yet to arrive at the scene, he said.
People were possibly trapped in the vehicles and one person may be dead.
