A person was killed after a fiery crash in Canterbury last night.
Emergency services were called to State Highway 75 in Taitapu, 16 km southwest of Christchurch about 10.45pm after a car crashed into a ditch.
One person was found dead at the scene, an ambulance spokesman said.
Another two people were taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries, including burns, and one person was taken to hospital with moderate injuries, including burns, he said.
The name of the dead person would not be released until later today after family had been notified, police said.
