GeoNet is reporting three earthquakes which have struck near Christchurch and Whanganui this morning.
The first was at 12.55am 10km northeast of Diamond Harbour at a depth of 10km and measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale.
Whanganui was then struck at 2.05am by a magnitude 4.7 quake 30km west of Whanganui at a depth of 110km.
The third quake hit at 8.19am, 10km east of Christchurch at a depth of 11km and measuring 3.8 on the Richter Scale.
