Slain man's body removed from scene

A homicide investigation is underway in the Wellington suburb of Johnsonville after a man was discovered stabbed to death in his bed last night.

The body of the 35-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, was found in his Broderick Road apartment about 6.15pm

Police removed the body from the property this afternoon and a postmortem examination is under way. It is likely to take several hours.

"A scene examination continues and around 30 police investigators and ESR staff are working on this operation," Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton said.

Police said they wanted to hear from anyone in the vicinity yesterday.

"This includes the likes of taxi drivers, courier drivers, delivery drivers, and people who were in the area yesterday afternoon and noted anything suspicious."
