A teenager has been charged in relation to an alleged kidnapping at Pioneer Stadium in Christchurch.
The 16-year-old is from Christchurch but had been living in Auckland, where he was arrested.
Police allege that on April 1 the youth jumped into a woman's car at the Pioneer Stadium swimming complex and held a stick to her throat.
He allegedly forced her to drive for several minutes before the vehicle stopped at Sparks Road in Hoon Hay.
The teenager appeared in the Youth Court at Manukau on Tuesday on a charge of kidnapping, and was remanded in custody.
