A Rotorua woman who left New Zealand for Hong Kong in 2009 after $10 million was mistakenly deposited in her Chinese boyfriend's Westpac bank account will stand trial next year.

Kara Mary-Jo Hurring faces around 30 theft and money laundering charges totalling nearly $250,000 relating to activities in Macau.

She was excused appearing in Rotorua District Court this morning when Judge James Weir set a trial date for February 20 next year.

Her partner, former Rotorua service station owner Leo Gao, remains at large, believed to be still in China.

At her previous appearance Hurring's lawyer, Simon Lance, said she was keen to return overseas to be reunited with her 8-year-old child
