Two injured in Northland crash

Two people have sustained moderate injuries after their vehicle crashed in Northland this morning, trapping one of the occupants.

The trapped person had to be freed by firefighters.

Southern fire communications shift manager Jarron Philips said the car went over a bank on State Highway 1 at Turntable Hill at Moerewa in Northland, just after 6am.

The vehicle was the only one involved in the crash, he said.

Both people have been taken by ambulance to the Bay of Islands Hospital.
