Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested and charged with assaulting four men who were taken to hospital following a fight in South Auckland early today.

Both youths will appear in Manukau Youth Court tomorrow morning.

More serious charges were expected to be laid.

Police are still looking for one other alleged offender, saying they had some strong leads.

The alleged victims, a 20-year-old man, two 21-year-olds and a 25-year-old, were taken to Middlemore Hospital.

One 21-year-old remained there, in a stable condition.

The alleged attack happened around 1am in Station Road, Takanini.

Police have sealed off the road and were trying to piece together what had happened.

The alleged attacks followed a barbecue and a party at neighbouring houses, said Counties Manukau police communications officer Ana-Mari Gates-Bowey.

"There appears to have been a lot of conflict and we received a call to the address just after 1am," she said.

Police spent today taking witness statements and carrying out a scene examination.
