Prince Harry plans to show his support for wounded Afghanistan war veterans by joining a group on part of a punishing expedition to the North Pole.

Harry will join the group at their base camp in frigid northern Norway.

He plans to arrive March 29 and spend three days training and five days trekking with them. The group will include four soldiers who were seriously injured while on active duty, including two amputees.

Harry said in a statement that the expedition is an enormous adventure and challenge.

He is a patron of the Walking With the Wounded charity. It is expected that the trip will take four weeks.
