The luxury helicopter is a Category A capable twin engine helicopter, engineered with world-class technology and the only one of its kind operating commercially in New Zealand.
The helicopter arrived at the Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters’ base on Monday morning, after flying down from Auckland, and will be used for exclusive scenic private charter flights.
Pat West, General Manager Aviation, Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters, explained that the new helicopter is at the forefront of all other helicopters in the New Zealand commercial market.
“It is made using the latest technology, it has a state-of-the-art design, and is a lot quieter than other helicopters flown commercially in New Zealand.
“It offers a much improved customer experience. The bigger cabin is more spacious, comfortably seating up to six passengers while providing them with outstanding visibility of the stunning surroundings.
“It includes Bose Noise Cancelling headsets which cut out the internal noise of the aircraft and means that passengers and pilots can speak to each other clearly.”
The helicopter can be flown by either one or two pilots using Instrument flight rules (IFR).
