"Heave... heave... now leave him there!" chorused standard 3 and 4 pupils of Balaclava School in June 1986 as teacher John Bradley swung from the rafters. The children have been involved in a three-week science unit called ‘‘Pulleys and levers’’ which has had them lining up to ride on the hoist.
