The proposed Tarras Community Trust will meet on August 27 to elect a trust board and adopt a trust deed.
It is intended the charitable trust will replace the Tarras Community Association.
The change in status will allow the community to apply for funding and grants for various projects, including a proposed new water scheme.
The full details of the trust deed and other information can be found at the Tarras Store and will be put up on two new websites being developed with the help of the Sustainable Farming Fund.
The websites are www.tarrasnz.com, a promotional website, and web.tarrasnz.com, an online information store for Tarras locals.
Nominations for the trust board close on August 20 and the meeting on August 27 is at the Tarras Hall at 7.30pm.
