Traffic across the Roxburgh Dam was reduced to one lane on Wednesday as a sluice gate ram was removed.
A Contact Energy spokeswoman said a traffic management plan was required to carry out planned activities on the road across the Roxburgh Dam. Between 10am-3pm there were 15-minute closures on the road.
Wednesday’s work was described on social media as urgent but that related to the traffic management plan being issued at short notice not the nature of the work.
There would be more work done on Monday with the same road closures, the spokeswoman said.
