Ratepayers in the Maniototo are set for a 7.4% increase in their community board rates for the next financial year.
Earlier this month, the Maniototo Community Board approved an increase of $52,000, which will be included in the Central Otago District Council's draft 2019-20 annual plan.
The increase is only on the community board rates, which make up 2.8% of the rates collected in the Teviot Valley area.
District ward and district-wide council rates are still to be struck.
A report from council corporate services executive manager Bernard Murphy said the 7.4% increase was mainly due to higher staff costs, engineering fees incurred at the Maniototo Stadium and Naseby Public Hall, and expenditure increases in open space contracts, including work to the Maniototo Arts Centre.
