More than 50 children cooled off in the two outdoor pools from 2-4pm during the last in a series of summer pool parties held throughout Central Otago.
Plans in place to establish a new pool complex to replace the existing facility may go ahead this year.
At present, the facility, which includes a main pool, small learning pool, amenities and changing rooms, requires upgrading.
But the complex held up well to More FM's pool party, the radio station's third and last party held for the school holiday, after ones at Cromwell and Alexandra.
Roxburgh's pool became a concern for the Roxburgh Community Board last year, when members were told of its deterioration.
The board scaled back its initial plan for a two-pool complex after it was estimated to cost $1 million, excluding a heating system, changing room facilities, landscaping, fencing, and ongoing operational costs.
Instead a one-pool complex was proposed, which prompted the Roxburgh Area School's board of trustees to become involved.
The pool covers school ground and Central Otago District Council land.
Board of trustees members suggested a two-pool complex was achievable if the community worked together.
Yesterday, board of trustees and pool committee member Rick Kristel said new pools could be in place for next summer.
Mr Kristel said board of trustees members met a Ministry of Education representative late last year to discuss whether it was appropriate for the project to involve the wider community.
He said there were "no barriers" from the ministry, and development would depend on what could be achieved in the short term.
"The next few months are crucial in terms of planning and getting the project under way, if it is to be completed by next summer," he said.
