Wanaka turned on a great couple of warm, sunny days for the 71st annual Upper Clutha A&P Show last weekend.

Secretary coordinator Jane Stalker said the three royal events at this year's show had drawn in considerably more people and there were record numbers of entries and competitors in all areas.

Gate takings also reached a record high and were up 15 per cent on last year.

‘‘Looking around, there was just hordes of people everywhere. I went up in the ferris wheel and had a wee look and there were huge crowds,'' Mrs Stalker said.

Highlights of the two-day event included the annual Jack Russell race, the children's tent and the Golden Lamb awards.

The News was at the show on Saturday and Sunday to capture some of the atmosphere in pictures.
